Why did we apply?

People don’t always realise that service-based businesses can become B Corp certified, given they are not creating products. However, they still work with stakeholders & supply chains. The B Corp process offers them a structure within which to assess their environmental, social & governance arrangements to ensure they are benefitting all those who come into contact with their business. 

The B Corp certification process reassured us that we’re building a business with ethical practice at the core & it isn’t just us saying we’re doing this: we’ve proved it through independent verification. 

What is a B Corp?

B Corp is an international not-for-profit network supporting businesses to collectively reorient the global economy toward supporting people & the planet in addition to generating profit. Established in 2006, B Corp’s mission is to make business a force for good & empower businesses to address the pressing challenges humanity faces including the climate crisis. The certification is also legally binding, involving a change to a company’s Articles of Association, & requires recertification every three years.

FF&M equips independent businesses with the skills & platforms they need to communicate their news to their audiences. In doing so, we are helping to build a new generation of environmentally & ethically responsible businesses.

Our vision is for a future where we measure growth in sustainable terms. We are determined to do things differently by putting the planet & people above profit & continually questioning & improving how we work. 

We guide & advise our clients on operational areas outside our scope of work, continually recommending other independent businesses that are experts in their fields to help our clients achieve their goals. With our experience & networks we share best practice on many different topics to ensure that our clients constantly consider their environmental impact. 

Every year, we work with a selected charity or philanthropic business on a pro bono basis to help them share their mission with international audiences, clarify their brand strategy & support their ESG endeavours. To us, it is really important to champion businesses & organisations that support people & places in need.  

We provide an open & enjoyable culture & ensure our team develops in the direction they want to explore professionally. We offer fully paid & supported work experience placements for new talent entering the industry. We also encourage team members to voice when they may be ready to move on to a new role so we can help them find it & proactively provide references to support their application. We support team members to take up paid training in areas they find interesting as well as take paid volunteer days to support organisations they are passionate about.
