5 ways to find & invite guests for your podcast
Inviting guests onto your podcast allows you to introduce different perspectives & insights into your episodes. Recording with guests also provides different points of interest for your listeners, who feel they are consuming new & engaging content.
Not sure where & how you can find & invite relevant guests for your podcast? Read on for our 5 key tips.
1. Consult your existing network
Tapping into your network can help create initial awareness of your new podcast. This is because your connections will be more likely to accept your invitation to record an episode & then reshare your social media assets. Plus you’ll feel more comfortable in the beginning interviewing someone you know well.
2. Search Instagram
On a prospective guest’s Instagram profile, you can click the dropdown button which shows suggestions of similar profiles. Reviewing these profiles will also give you further ideas of similar guests. Soon, you will have a large pool of prospective guests to invite.
3. Connect on LinkedIn
With many people looking to grow & strengthen their personal brand, LinkedIn can be a great place to identify guests. By assessing prospective guests’ follower counts & reviewing their content, you can determine whether they would be a relevant person to appear on your podcast too.
4. Contact PRs
If a prospective guest has PR representation, you can contact the PR team. This can be a good way to secure particular guests as their PR agency is looking to secure coverage for their clients. Securing a podcast recording for their client is a great way of achieving this, allowing their clients to share their key messages on your show.
5. The invitation itself
Once you have identified who you would like to invite, send the prospective guest or their PR contact a tailored invitation email. This should include a short sentence recognising or congratulating them on their work, a paragraph about your podcast & how you are flexible on recording dates.
